Day 1 – Queen Elizabeth Park:
Getting to Queen Elizabeth Park by Road:
Your driver-guide will meet you at your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala at 6 am and depart for Queen Elizabeth Park for your 4-Day Luxury Lion Wildlife Safari. The drive time to the park is about six hours, and we will have fruit, snacks, and juice aboard the Toyota Land Cruiser Safari Vehicle.
Flying to Queen Elizabeth Park with AeroLink:
Instead of a six-hour drive, you can fly from Entebbe International Airport with AerOLink Safari Airline to Kihihi and start the Safari in the Ishasha area of Queen Elizabeth Park, where your driver-guide will meet you.
yOUR FLY-IN Safari will begin at 6 am, with your flight departure from Entebbe at 7:00 am.
You will fly back from Kasese to Entebbe at the end of your Safari.
Kasenyi Safari Camp:
We will reach Kasenyi Safari Camp in the Lion Country portion of the Mweya region of Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Kasenyi Safari Camp is a small intimate lodge of four tented cottages overlooking a crater lake and the Kasenyi Plains, where an abundance of lions and other predators can be found here.
You stay in a large tented cottage with an ensuite bath and a deck from where you can see the wildlife that passes through the camp.
Wildlife, including lions, visit this Lodge, making it more than a place to sleep but a fantastic wilderness experience late afternoon; it is time for your first Wildlife Tracking Ride with Wildlife and Bird Expert who will not let you miss a thing and answer any questions you might have. Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Buffaloes, and Antelopes will be seen in abundance as you ride across the Savannah.
Go to sleep to the sounds of roaring lions near and far.
Afternoon Game Drive and Sunset Explosion Crater Drive:
We take an afternoon game drive accompanied by a Ugandan Wildlife Ranger. You will see a lot of wildlife, including carnivores such as lions and leopards. The Kasenyi plains are an excellent area for game drives.
Toward the late afternoon, we move to the Explosion Crater Drive, one of Uganda’s most scenic drives in Uganda. Late afternoon is one of the best times for great photographs.
This is the highest spot in Queen Elizabeth Park. You can see the Rwenzori Mountains, the western rift drop-off, and the Savannah with Lake George and Lake Edwards.
The drive is 27 kilometers in length, and there are twelve craters that you will see. Some are lakes, some filled with sulfur, others covered by Savannah or forest.
The drive is well worth your time, and you will be able to take some great photos. The ranger with you will give you the historical background of the area.

Day 2 – Queen Elizabeth Park:
Lion Tracking Research:
On the lion tracking research, you are with researchers and tracking equipment to search and see the collared lions in the northern area of Queen Elizabeth Park. The Uganda Wildlife Authority and the Uganda Carnivore Program carry out this project.
The Uganda Carnivore Project handles the Lion Tracking Research and is about three hours long.
Afternoon Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise:
In the afternoon, we go down to Kazinga Channel for the Boat Safari that takes place and is one of the highlights of your time in Queen Elizabeth Park.
You will see hundreds of different water birds, herds of elephants coming to water, buffaloes, and antelopes, and in the late afternoon, one might see some predators quenching their thirst before they head out on their nightly prowl.

Day 3 – Ishasha – Queen Elizabeth Park:
This morning we move to the Ishasha Plains in the southern section of Queen Elizabeth Park. The Lion adventure continues since this is home to the Tree Climbing Lions found here.
Before checking into Ishasha Wilderness Camp, we take a game drive in search of the Tree-Climbing Lions found here. The lions sleep in fig or acacia trees for up to fifteen hours daily, resting from the night’s hunt.
Ishasha is the best spot in East Africa to see the rare tree-climbing lions. You will see other wildlife besides the tree-climbing lions, such as leopards who also spend the day up in a tree with their prey.
You can also see large herds of elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes, including Topi Antelopes.
Ishasha Wilderness Camp
Ishasha Wilderness Tented Camp is the only Lodge within the Park in the Ishasha Region of Queen Elizabeth Park.
It is an exclusive Luxury Lodge of distinction, and the stay here is one of the highlights of your Safari in the Park.
Your Spacious Luxury Tent with en-suite Bath has large windows through which you can see the Wilderness. The room is tastefully furnished with large windows giving you a view of the River and Park and its wildlife.
The service is first-Class, as is the food served here at the Main Lodge or down by the River. We can arrange a Bush Breakfast or Sundowner at an extra cost; the experience is well worth it.
You can visit some of the projects that Ishasha Wilderness Camp supports, such as Elephant trenches that keep elephants away from the farms of the communities surrounding the Park.
Afternoon Game Drive and Safari Sundowner:
Afternoon Game Drive in search of the Tree-Climbing Lions of Ishasha – the lions climb up the trees in the morning after returning from a night’s hunt and sleep most of the day away.
Why did the lion climb into the trees? There are no clear answers, but it is either a cultural adaptation or wanting to avoid insects on the ground.
After the Game Drive, it is time for a Sundowner and snack in the Wilderness provided by Ishasha Wilderness Tented Camp.

Day 4 -Ishasha – return to Kampala:
4 Day Luxury Lion Wildlife Safari – Queen Elizabeth Park comes to an as we head for Kampala – stop for lunch in Mbarara – a visit and stop at the equator, and then the Royal Drum Makers; you can even pick up a few for a memory of Uganda.
Please Note: You have the option to fly back to Entebbe from here using the Kihihi Airstrip that is nearby.
