There will be some great opportunities for you to take aerial photos from above – especially as you pass over the Switzerland of Africa…enjoy your flight.
Do remember to pack light for your flying safari – 15 Kilos is the maximum weight of your luggage allowed, exceptions are made 6USD per kilo.
We check into the Luxury Lodge you have chosen for the next two nights.
The Batwa Experience is one of the best interactive Forest Walks with the first people of the Forest, the Batwa Pygmies who have lived here for thousands of years long before any of the Bantu People arrived. They lived in harmony with nature, with the Mountain Gorillas in the forest only taking what they needed to live,
They were hunters and gatherers and today you will see what they hunted and gathered in the forest. One of their trademarks was the low ecological footprint that they left behind.
The Batwa Experience was started by the Kellerman Foundation that has worked for several decades with the Batwa People improving their well-being, their education and empowering them to have a voice since for the most part they have been voiceless.
This s a 3 to five hour interactive, guided walk and you return to the lodge well before sunset.
Meal Plan: Lunch – Dinner
Day 2 – Gorilla Trekking:
Breakfast and this is your big day of visiting the gentle giants of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. There are some things you will need for today’s trek. A packed lunch from the lodge, a light backpack, light rain jacket, light hiking boots, long-sleeved shirts to avoid getting scratched by branches and stung by nettles, a hat, long trousers or jeans, gardening gloves to pull yourself up on branches and vines in order to get close to the Mountain Gorillas.
At times people ask “is gorilla trekking really worth it?” You will soon find out that it definitely is when you spend your hour with the Mountain Gorillas in the ancient rainforest of Bwindi. It is an experience that you will never forget. A most meaningful time for you that is without compare.
Gorilla tracking takes from a couple of hours to over 5 since the Mountain Gorilla Families move daily and build new nests each day. The group you will be visiting is habituated meaning that they are used to human beings and just go about their day while you visit them.
After the gorilla trek return to Buhoma Lodge where you can either rest and reflect on your time with the Mountain Gorillas
Dinner and reflection with others regarding your phenomenal day of Gorilla Tracking
Breakfast at Buhoma Lodge and we take the short 1 1/2 hour drive to the Ishasha area of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Here you check into the exclusive Ishasha Wilderness Tented Camp along the Ntungwe River where you will be staying in your large and luxurious tent with en-suite bath.
From your tent or the main lodge you can often see elephants that have come to bathe and water – one can eat in the dining room or along the river – the setting is simply fabulous and you are in the remote region of Queen Elizabeth Park.
Home to the sought after tree – climbing lions and all the other wildlife found here in the Ishasha area of the park
Settle in – and enjoy the surroundings of the African Wild at Ishasha Tented Camp. It is simply a wondrous place of comfort while you are in the bush and quite different from the setting at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
Enjoy a delightful lunch here along the Ntungwe River
Ishasha is Africa’s best place to see Tree Climbing Lions which is a most amazing sight, but there is much more to Ishasha such as a multitude of elephants, buffaloes, antelopes such as the Topi and the Uganda Kob. There are also leopards to be seen here, savannah birds and along the Lake Swamps the elusive Shoebill Stork.
During the Afternoon we take a game drive in an open-air safari vehicle where nothing obstructs your view of the surroundings, the wildlife such as the tree-climbing lions, elephants, antelopes including the handsome Topi and Uganda Kob, hopefully a leopard or two and more. This is a most exciting way to see the unvisited Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth Park.
After the game drive return to Ishasha Wilderness Tented Camp where you can sit along the river – see the elephants come to water and bathe along the Ntungwe River.
Dinner at Ishasha Wilderness Camp where the food is simply a delight and one could say restaurant quality.
Meal Plan: Breakfast – Lunch – Dinne

Return to the lodge where you can once again enjoy your surroundings and have a lunch.
Late afternoon game drive once again visiting the tree-climbing lions and other wildlife found here and then it is a sundowner with snacks in the bush – another unique experience for you to enjoy.
