Arrival Day in Kigali Rwanda for your Private 3 Day Gorilla Trekking Safari: Many flights from Europe arrive during the evening others at night at Kigali International Airport, the Gateway not only to Rwanda – but to Southwest Uganda. We will pick you up at the airport and take you to the Value Plus Moderately price Heaven Boutique Hotel in a residential setting with a lovely garden and small, swimming pool, their excellent restaurant serves
Day 1 – Drive to Rushaga – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda:
Your 3 Day Gorilla Habituation Experience Safari begins as we leave your hotel in Kigali at 6:30 am or the Kigali Airport for your moderately priced Safari. The drive time to Rushaga is about 4 hours plus depending on Border Crossing – Visa for Uganda is 50 USD. You can also get an East African Visa from Rwanda’s Ministry of Migration or on arrival request the East African Visa.
Usually, the border crossing is about 30 to 45 minutes, and you are in Uganda heading for the ancient Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The Route you are on from Kigali to Bwindi is one of the most scenic drives in East Africa.
We arrive in Rushaga, the Southern area of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest where there are more and more lodges for you to choose from – ask us, and we will let you know the ones our past clients have enjoyed the most.
Afternoon Optional Activities at Bwindi Jungle Lodge:
There two kinds of Gorilla Trekkers on Safari. One likes to settle in at the lodge, read one of our Gorilla Safari Books while resting in a hammock along Lake Mulehe while others want one activity after another and not missing. The good news is that we can fulfill either request from you,

Day 2 – Gorilla Trekking – Rushaga – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest:
Early Breakfast and take your packed lunch from the lodge. For Gorilla Trekking Gear– have a daypack, 2 liters of water, daypack, long trousers, gardening gloves for pulling yourself up on branches, long-sleeved shirt. Waterproof boots, hat, rain jacket, use a walking stick and the services of a porter at a small cost – let our Driver-Guide negotiate the price and arrange the porter for you.
We take you to the Rushaga Park Headquarters and Trailhead for an orientation your gorilla family assignment and the rules of Gorilla Trekking in regards as to what you can and cannot do.
You can most often track the Gorilla Groups that you might like, and we will help you in that with Park Staff. Trekking times vary between 3 – 6 hours depending on the gorilla group you will be trekking on your day.
We take you back to the lodge after your trek.

Day 3- Return to Kigali:
Breakfast and we return to Kigali
Optional – $90 per person: Before crossing the border into Rwanda we stop at Mgahinga Gorilla Park to trek the Golden Monkeys found here. There are over 3000 Golden Monkeys on the Ugandan side of the Virunga Volcanoes. This morning you will trek them in the Bamboo Forests on the bottom of the Volcanoes in the Park.
You will encounter a habituated group of about 100 monkeys that will make the forest come alive with activity as they flit all around you, over you, near you, ever active. You have to be quick with picture taking on this morning, and it is best to take many photos and keep the best.
This is a 3 hour Trek, and afterward, we cross the border into Rwanda and head for Kigali.
We will drop off at airport 3-hours before your flight and the end of your moderately priced 3 Day Gorilla Trekking Safari. Rwanda is on Central African Time, and we gain one hour when we cross from Uganda into Rwanda.
