Ishasha Jungle Lodge – located just outside of Queen Elizabeth Park along Ntungwe River
Ishasha Jungle Lodge – Home of the Tree-Climbing Lions opened in January of 2014 in the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth Park. It is located just outside of the Ishasha area entrance on a sprawling 20 acres of land along the Ntungwe River that flows through the park.
When you arrive at the Jungle Lodge the first impression you just might have is how much at one with nature the lodge is on this quite peaceful setting along the River Ntungwe.
The lodge is surrounded by forest and savannah studded with acacia trees – a serene setting for most who come here.
The Ishasha area has not had many quality choices, however with the opening of the Jungle Lodge at Ishasha visitors have another quality option in the area.
Ishasha Jungle Lodge – Home of the Tree-Climbing Lions is not only surrounded by nature, it is focused on being in harmony with the nature that surrounds it by being and eco-friendly, affordable, up-market lodge.
Presently there are four cottages made with natural material which includes wooden floors and decks made from commercial timber that was legally harvested, tenting material, even the cement is local, and of course the stones used in the construction of the lodge.
The furnishing and art that you find here is made by local artisans and of course most of the staff at the Jungle Lodge in Ishasha is from the surrounding area providing employment in a meaningful position.
Cooking is done withe propane gas and charcoal alternatives. The lodge uses solar electricity and that includes the refrigerator of the lodge. There is an emergency backup generator on the premise.
