Gorilla Trekking – not Guerrilla Trekking Safaris. Uganda is a Guerrilla-Free Zone, and there are no active Guerrilla Groups found in Uganda. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Mgahinga Gorilla Park are Guerrilla-Free, Safe, and Secure. You will only find Gorillas and not Guerrillas in either Park.
Gorilla permits pay for the ongoing Gorilla Conservation Efforts in Uganda, resulting in Uganda being the home to over half of the Mountain Gorilla Population in Africa. Gorilla Tourism provides related business opportunities, employment, and vigilant efforts in preserving the habitat of the Gentle Giants of the Forest.
Not only do the Trekking Permits cover conservation and community development, but Safety and Security inside and outside of the parks.

The Uganda Wildlife Authority Rangers, the Ugandan Military, the Tourism Police, and regular Police have done. They are doing what it takes to keep Gorilla Trekking and the two Gorilla Sanctuaries safe and secure, Guerrilla-Free.
We offer Gorilla Trekking – not Guerrilla Trekking Safaris. Like others, we are a Gorilla Safari Tour Operator, and we appreciate that Uganda has provided the levels of Security it has.

We keep up to date with any development related to gorilla trekking, including safety and security, that would affect our clients. We know the present state of Security in any area and park of Uganda. If there were any danger, we would not take our Clients into that park.

Gorilla Trekking, not Guerrilla Safaris: Rangers are not just hired but go through extensive Bootcamp training, including military and security training, poaching preventions, conservation, community relationships, guiding visitors, and trekking. In June 2019, select Rangers received further specialized training by the US Military to make them even more helpful.
Behind the scenes, the Ugandan Army patrols parks and borders. Additionally, the Tourism Police Force works hard to prevent crimes involving Tourists, and the Police apprehend any criminal elements causing problems.
The parks’ communities are pro-Gorilla Tourism since they directly benefit from a revenue-sharing program instituted by Uganda Wildlife Authority, and they receive 20% of the park entrance fees.
This money is used for infrastructure, resulting in new schools, clean water programs, clinics, etc. Gorilla Trekking is a win-win situation for all involved. Trekkers, Rangers, Guides, and the local communities. Guerrillas do not enter the parks due to the high security found there.
Uganda is home to Gorillas, not Guerrillas:
Everyone is a stakeholder in Primate Tourism. They all are interested in keeping it safe and secure for Visitors who come to trek great apes in Uganda.
Tourism is the number one income producer for Uganda, and gorilla Tourism represents most of the leisure Tourism Dollars for the Country. It is only logical that Uganda would commit its security resources to protect visitors to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Mgahinga Gorilla Park.
Uganda has highly trained Rangers, Soldiers, and Police that keep Uganda and its National Parks Guerrilla Free.
Uganda is Guerrilla-Free, and everything is being done to keep it that way, unlike in Virunga National Park in DR Congo, where there is an ongoing Guerrilla presence. We, unlike others, do not offer safaris to the Kivu province in DR Congo’s Virunga National Park.
