1. Flying from Entebbe International Airport to Kisoro is the Best Way.
For your comfort and minimal drive times flying to Mgahinga Gorilla Park’s area is the best way of getting there. The drawback is that flying from Kigali, Rwanda, or Entebbe in Uganda costs more than driving. Upon arrival in Uganda, you would be welcomed to Uganda by us and taken to a prearranged hotel for your overnight.
The following day you fly out of Entebbe International Airport to Kisoro in an AeroLink Cessna Grand Caravan. It is a ninety-minute flight with a brief stopover at the Kihihi Airfield.
The flight from Kihihi to Kisoro is the most scenic portion of your flight, where you take in Lake Bunyoni, the Virunga Volcanoes, the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, and Lake Mutanda.

Getting to Mgahinga Gorilla Park from Kigali, Rwanda:
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda can be easily accessed by road from Kigali, Rwanda’s capital city. Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is about 110 kilometers from Kigali, and the journey by road takes approximately 3-4 hours. Visitors can hire a private car or public transport to the park.
If you are on a Safari with us, we will get you to Mgahihnga Gorilla Park in about three hours plus, depending on traffic, road conditions, and border crossing.
Rwanda -Uganda Border Crossing:
If you are traveling from Rwanda to Uganda with us, we must cross the border at the Cyanika border post, about 10 kilometers from Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Visitors must have the necessary travel documents, including a passport and visa. You should have an Easdt African Visa and Yellow Fever Certificate for the border crossing.
Getting to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park from Kigali with us is a relatively straightforward journey. You can be at the Mount Gahinga Lodge in three hours. It is the shortest drive to a Ugandan Gorilla Park, where you can save $800 for a gorilla permit since gorilla permits in Uganda are $700 and not 1,500.

Drive from Entebbe or Kampala to Mgahinga Gprilla Park:
The drive from Entebbe to the southern area is extended. It takes 10 hours, with a lunch break, to get to Mgahinga Gorilla Park. You leave Entebbe early morning and arrive at your Lodge in Mgahinga Gorilla Park late afternoon. If you are on a three-day Safari, that is how it is. You can have lunch at the Equator on the way back to Entebbe.
