Kenya Background and History:

  • Kenyan History:  This is an excellent source for Kenyan History up to the present time.  The history of Kenya is very long and complex. From the "Cradle of Civilization" to present date, Kenya's long history has been both varied and fascinating. This section provides a comprehensive account of Kenya's history, divided into 11 sections.

  • The Kenya Page:  Put together by R.C. Bowen, a very good job that pulls together various topics from History to Country information on Kenya. Very informative, you can spend some time here.

  • Coast Week:  Weekly news from Kenya's Coast on the Indian Ocean. Very slow in loading.

  • Capital FM:  A non-government radio station.  I breathed a sigh of relief when this station came on the air in Nairobi.  What a pleasant switch from the usual government pitch. You can listen live if you have a Windows Media Player.

  • Kenyan Newspapers:  Directory of Kenyan Newspapers- -headlines and breaking news from Kenya and East Africa.

  • The East African:  This is one of my favorite newspapers in East Africa. It is a weekly newspaper and is independent of government.  It is published in Nairobi but sold all over East Africa.

Kenya - Human Rights:

  • Koigi wa Wamere:  A Kenyan Patriot and Human Rights advocate that has been a thorn in the side of his Excellency, President, Daniel Arap T. Moi and anyone else associated with the good old boys network of Kenyan politics.  Has paid a price for his efforts, times in jail and exile.  His writings are quite inspirational to me personally.
