Uganda-Lonely Planet -Best Country to Visit-2012 – What about this year?
Uganda-Lonely Planet -Top Country to Visit-2012 is still your Best Choice in Africa.
Uganda-Lonely Planet -Best Country to Visit-2012 -What about this Year? We at Kabiza Wilderness Safari remember well when Lonely Planet named our beautiful Uganda the best country to visit in 2012. It filled us with joy and pride for my homeland – a fitting recognition of all that Uganda – the Pearl of Africa offers to travelers visiting Uganda on a safari.
Uganda deserves to be at the top of any list of best travel destinations for its astonishing natural splendors, vibrant cultures, and welcoming people. From the mountain gorillas of Bwindi to the ancient tombs of Kasubi, from the source of the Nile to the islands of Lake Victoria, Uganda is overflowing with wonders that will fascinate and move any traveler’s soul.
But it is our Ugandan spirit that remains our most significant attraction. Our openheartedness, resilience, and joy in the simple things make us a refreshingly natural alternative to places overrun with ‘overtourism.’ Visitors often remark how Uganda renews its zest for travel by opening its eyes to what matters – a life lived fully and connectedly, in harmony with nature and community.
We celebrated this 2012 honor from Lonely Planet. It reminds me that Uganda still has so much to offer the world through ecotourism and cultural exchange if only we can safeguard our wonders, empower our people and share our story with wisdom and care.
Years later, we hope Uganda can rise to the top of such lists again. Not for the empty praise of rankings but as an inspiration – showing the world that another kind of tourism is possible, one that honors the culture empowers communities, and nurtures our shared humanity. This would be a worthier accolade that Uganda is well placed to achieve.
