Your 5-Day Family Wildlife Safari in Murchison Falls Park can be adjusted to your liking. The activities can be changed. We do this following the ages of your children. We also consider what you like to do and see as a Family.

Day 1 -Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary:

Your 5-Day Family Wildlife Safari in Murchison Falls Park begins when your driver-guide picks you up at your hotel at 8:00 am. You head north to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. We reach Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary before noon and check into Amuka Lodge. Amuka Lodge is an upmarket safari lodge that is right inside of Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

The rooms are in large permanent tented cottages with en-suite bath. After getting settled in your tented cottage, you can have a delightful lunch at the main lodge, which overlooks a swimming pool provided for the guests here.

Since the lodge is South African managed, Barbequed chicken and beef are often on the Menu. Vegetarian and Vegan options are readily available. Since this is a Kid-Friendly Lodge, there are items on the menu for the children that they delight in.

During the Afternoon, your family goes on the Rhino Trek. Here you track Rhinos on foot with guides and rangers.  You get as close as 10 meters to the Rhinos.  It is an exciting adventure for all and safe for the family. Usually, the tracking is about 2-hours in length.

All of the children will be able to participate. There is no age-limit or minimal-age for them to be able to participate in the Rhino Trek. It is a safe experience, and you are with experienced rangers who will guide you safely on the trek and back.

After the Rhino trek, enjoy the rest of the afternoon around the pool, and dinnertime might be one of the delightful Barbeques that Amuka Lodge puts on for its guest – enjoy dinner in the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.
