5-Reasons why you should Choose Uganda for Gorilla Tracking-2019-2020

Why Uganda is your Best Choice for Gorilla Tracking – What Rwanda does not want you to know about Gorilla Trekking in Uganda in 2019 – 2020

Best Choice for Gorilla Tracking?  Uganda – or What Rwanda does not want you to know about Gorilla Trekking in Uganda. Gorilla Tourism changed in May of 2017 when Rwanda doubled the Price of Gorilla Permits to $1,500 while Uganda remained at $600 for a permit and locked in that price until the end of 2019 creating a $900 price difference.

That $1,500 Rwanda Gorilla Permit caused many who had Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda on their Bucket List to look at the alternatives of Gorilla Trekking in Uganda or DR Congo.  Virunga  National Park in DR Congo had too much Guerilla activity and in 2018 the Park was closed after several regrettable;e incidents including the Kidnapping of two Tourists who were later Released.  This left Gorilla Trekkers with only one alternative and that was Uganda which subsequently became the country of Choice based on price plus Safety and Security for Gorilla Trekkers.  All this has led to what we call “The Great Gorilla Trekker Migration since Uganda for most became the  Choice for the African Traveler when it came to Gorilla Trekking.

Why Uganda is your Best Choice for Gorilla Tracking in 2019. Most Choose Uganda for Gorilla Tracking based on one thing.  The Price of the Gorilla Permit, but there are other reasons given such as the number of available permits being available, the cost of Gorilla lodging  is for the most part below Rwanda, there is also the Gorilla Habituation Experience where you spend 4-hours with a Gorilla Family, plus you can add on the best Chimpanzee Tracking in East Africa, Wildlife, Authentic Cultural Experiences with the Batwa People

One thing we have learned that Trekkers make their own choices where to trek Gorillas based on the best experience for their Money.  The Country where they trek Gorillas is immaterial, it comes down to the best experience for the money invested in Africa’s most expensive Tourist Activity. Rwanda excels in Gorilla Tourism Spin which causes some to be confused as to what are the best Options.  Uganda, on the other just keeps quiet about the advantages that Gorilla Trekkers can have in the Pearl of Africa.

Kigali International Airport is one of the best in Africa, a larger one is being built.  It is conveniently close to the Ugandan border in the Southwest of Uganda, 3 hours from Mgahinga Gorilla Park and 4-Hours from Bwindi Forest.

No Ugandan government Tourism Agency such as the Ministry of Tourism, the Uganda Tourism Board, Uganda Wildlife Authority want you to know that it is more convenient to fly into Kigali Rwanda and we drive you to Mgahinga Gorilla Park, 3-Hours, South Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, 4-Hours.

Kigali, Rwanda is southwest Uganda’s unofficial airport – the border crossing is a cultural experience but has been greatly improved from what it used to be.  By flying into Rwanda and Trekking in Uganda you save time, money and get to enjoy one of the most scenic drives that you have ever experience.

We have used Kigali Airport as the starting point into Southwest Uganda 5-years ago, most Ugandan Tour Operators still think and operate in terms of Entebbe International Airport.

Best Choice for Gorilla Tracking – There is more than one way to track Gorillas in Uganda. That is something Rwanda does not want you to know about, but it is something that you can easily find out on our site.

Like in Rwanda you can track Gorillas and be with them for one hour, but Uganda goes beyond that

1. Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla Park where you track Gorillas on the sides of the Virunga Volcanoes, replicating the type of Trekking.

Uganda is the best Chimpanzee Destination in East Africa with over 5,000 Chimpanzees, Kibale Forest with the best Chimpanzee sighting in East Africa.

 Our Take

Best Choice for Gorilla Tracking – here is what we know from experience since Rwanda raised their permit prices in May of 2017.  You only gain by tracking in Uganda.  Uganda without fanfare has become the choice for Gorilla Trackers in 2018 and 2019 looks to be a repeat performance with more permits

No client has told us that they wish that they had tracked Gorillas in Rwanda, Saving $1,000 plus USD per person is reason enough for most including those with financial resources.

Rwanda may not want you to know the above information but they have not too badly, Kigali has become a key convention hub in East Africa- Gorilla Trekking, they are also getting a fair share of the business, probably more than what they realistically expected.

in the meantime, we are booking Gorilla Safaris for 2019, 99 plus % in Uganda, the premier primate Destination in Africa.
