Why do you need a Daypack for your Gorilla Trek – Hike – Climb?
Choosing a suitable Waterproof Daypack for your Gorilla Trekking Safari in Uganda
Having a Daypack for Primate Trekking and Hiking-Climbing Safaris would be best.
Why do you need a Waterproof Daypack for your Gorilla Trekking Safari? Gorilla Trekking is done in Tropical Afri-Montane Rainforests, where the usual morning mist is often accompanied by a bit of typically light rain. You are on the actual Gorilla Trek for between 3 and 6 hours, sometimes longer.
The weather changes from a cold morning to a warmer day, and you might need something to eat, drink, and protection for your camera, lenses, and batteries so a waterproof daypack will be very handy. Use a porter to carry your Daypack and support the local community.
A Waterproof Daypack for your Gorilla Trekking Safari is even more necessary if you are on the all-day Gorilla Habituation Experience. You spend 4 hours with a Gorilla Family in the Rushaga area of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
You do not need the most expensive Daypack – but sturdy, waterproof, comfortable to use, and large enough to pack the things you will need on the day of your Trek.
We suggest you use your Daypack as a carry-on on your flight to Uganda, making it unnecessary to pack into your suitcase. Additionally, use a daypack for all Primate Treks, Hikes, and Climbs in Uganda.

What to look for when buying a daypack for your Gorilla Trek:
- Waterproof material: Look for a daypack of waterproof material like nylon or polyester to keep your belongings dry in rain or humidity.
- Size: Choose a daypack that is the right size for your needs. It should be large enough to carry your essentials, such as a water bottle, snacks, camera, and extra clothing, but not so large that it becomes cumbersome.
- Comfort: Look for a daypack that is comfortable to wear for long periods. It should have padded straps and a back panel to distribute weight evenly and reduce pressure on your shoulders and back.
- Accessibility: Choose a daypack with easy-to-access compartments and pockets. This will allow you to quickly retrieve needed items without digging through the entire pack.
- Durability: Look for a daypack made of durable material that can withstand the rigors of a gorilla trekking safari. It should withstand scratches, punctures, and other wear and tear.
- Security: Choose a daypack with secure zippers and closures to protect your belongings and prevent theft.
- Color: Choose a daypack with neutral colors, such as black or green, to blend in with the natural environment and avoid attracting unwanted attention.
Choosing a waterproof daypack with these features ensures your belongings stay dry and protected during your gorilla trekking Safari.
