Uganda – Beyond the Big-5 The Country of the Big 7 – Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Buffaloes, Rhinos plus Gorillas, and Chimpanzees

Uganda – Beyond the Big-5 The Country of the Big 7.  The Pearl of Africa, a country truly gifted by nature is home to the traditional Big – 5 Animals, Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Buffaloes, and Rhinos but, may other East African have the Big-5 roaming in the Wildlife Park.  Uganda, however, is not just home to Big-5 but the Big-7 with its Mountain Gorillas found in Mgahinga  Gorilla Park and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Chimpanzees that you find in Kibale Forest, BudongoForest, Kalinzu Forest, Kyambura Gorge, and Semliki Forest.

Uganda is the Big 5-Plus – the Big 5 you can see all across Sub-Africa, the Big 7 in quantity and various Parks only in Uganda – the Pearl of Africa.  Uganda is Primates Plus or Wildlife Plus Mountain Gorillas and Chimpanzees. 

Uganda, off-of-the Radar for many of African Traveler is not only the home of the endangered Mountain Gorillas and the greatest number of Chimpanzees in East Africa which in addition to Lions, But Leopards, Elephants, Rhnos, Hippos, Buffales also make Uganda home to the Big 7 of African Wildlife plus more.

Uganda, The Pearl of Africa is home to over half of the remaining Mountain Gorilla Population, has the largest Chimpanzee Population and it does end there.

Uganda is more than Gorillas and Chimpanzees, there are Lions, Buffaloes, Leopards, Rhinos, Hippos, and both Savannah and Forest Elephants. 

Lions – Uganda is the Best Country where you can spot tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha Region of Queen Elizabeth Park and also found in the remote Kidepo Valley Park.

Leopards – are found in every Savannah Park in Uganda and there are 5 of them.

Elephants – Due to stringent conservation measures the Elephant population in Uganda is thriving.  There is limited poaching and both the Forest Elephants and the larger Savannah Elephants are found throughout Uganda in both Savannah and Forest Parks.

Hippos – 26% of Uganda is made of Lakes and Rivers which provide the perfect habitat for Hippos.  The White Nile has its source in Uganda and flows through the country and through Murchison Falls National Park On its banks you will see hundreds of Hippos as well as along the Kazinga Channel in Queen Elizabeth  Park.  Those are the two best places where you can see hundreds of Hippos.

Buffaloes – Buffaloes are found in all of Uganda’s Savannah Park.  For views of vast Kidepo Valley Park is known for some of the largest buffalo herds in East Africa.

Home of the River Nile with its Adventure Activities, the Rwenzori Mountains of the Moon, the Virunga Volcanoes of which 3 are in Uganda. Rainforest, Jungle, Savannahs, Lake Victoria, and its tropical Ssese Islands, The Equator runs through Uganda yet its Weather and Climate remain mild,

There are 10 National Parks with another one soon to be opened, the largest population of the endangered Rothschild Giraffes.
