Rwanda – when it comes to weather and climate is just right for most visitors throughout the year, even during the rainy season .  Rwanda is a small , landlocked country just south of the equator.  The color green can be found most everywhere due to the rainfall that graces the land.  That rainfall is often during the night or the early morning hours and the sun comes out again during the day.  This pleasant year-around climate is due to Rwanda’s elevation.

Here in Rwanda unlike many other African Countries it is neither too hot nor too cold.  The average daily temperature barely exceeds 80 degrees Fahrenheit or 27 degrees Celsius simply Rwanda with its Pleasant Climate and Weather is one of the best countries to visit in Africa.

Rainy Seasons in Rwanda:

Rwanda has two rainy season throughout the year – the first being from February to April and the second from October to end of November – at times into December.  The rainy seasons and plentiful rainfall is due to the elevation of the country, even though it is close to the equator.

It is best to pack things that take into consideration the time of the year and the corresponding weather during that time.  Generally you want some lightweight clothing – a sweater or light jacket for the evenings or early morning hours.

If you are doing any hikes, nature walks, long trousers, long-sleeved shirts, hats, light rain-jacket or poncho just might be right for you. If you are going Gorilla Trekking there will be certain clothes you need to wear for your protection and comfort.
