Day 1 The Journey to the Source of the Nile in Jinja:

Spend a While on the Nile Luxury Safari in Uganda the Pearl of Africa – Your 8-Day Luxury Safari begins in Entebbe as you board the M.V. Vanessa and take the 2 1/2 Hour Boat Ride on Lake Victoria to Jinja. Reminding one of passWinston who arrived in Jinja by boat from Kampala  The M.V Vanessa is a 54 passenger boat takes you from Entebbe following the scenic coastline to Jinja where your Driver-Tour Guide awaits you as you dock in Jinja.

The Sailing trip across Lake Victoria with the M.V. Vanessa is just 2 1/2 hours and usually is shorter than driving.

Please Note;  The M.V. Vanessa plows the waters between Entebbe on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Your Driver will Source of Nile Park where you take a short boat ride to the actual Source. Afterward, we continue to Wildwaters Lodge, which is located on the private Munyanja Island in the Wild Waters Reserve of the Nile at Jinja. We cross over to the island for the next two days by boat and you are welcomed in grand Ugandan style by the staff of the luxury Wildwaters Lodge.

 Your room, a fabulous Tented Cottage with bath is superbly and tastefully decorated, your deck overlooks the rushing River Nile, it even comes with a bathtub where you can relax and take in what is around you, you like others before you are amazed and delighted.

Take a midday dip in the natural swimming pool that is along the River Nile and cools off from the equatorial sun as you have the day of a lifetime experiencing the River Nile one of Africa’s Natural Wonders up close.

Walk off the lunch by taking a nature walk around the islands and enjoying the Trees, plants, flowers, birds, and monkeys and notice the quiet only broken by the sound of the River Nile.

Day 2 Wildwaters Lodge on the River Nile: 

Awaken to the sounds of the ancient Nile and songbirds all around you – it is breakfast time and some excellent  Ugandan coffee to get you going for the day.

Today you can choose to relax and be a human being instead of a human doing, or you can go half day or full day white water rafting up to grade five.  You can kayak, go horseback riding along the Nile, you can drive through the countryside and villages on an ATV Quad Vehicle, or do something really extreme “Bungee Diving” into the Nile – along the lines of adrenaline-pumping experiences is the jet boat ride up the Nile across the rapids which is a most exhilarating experience for most.

 Day 3 – Drive to Amuka Lodge – Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary: 

Breakfast at Wildwaters Lodge and this is not merely a matter of eggs and toast but a full meal for you to enjoy as you experience one of the 7 Wonders of Africa – The River Nile around you.

7:00 AM – We continue on our Spend a While on the Nile Luxury Safari and head north in the direction of Murchison Falls National Park to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where we check into Amuka Lodge which besides being a most beautiful luxury tented cottage lodge is a place for the excellent food served at mealtimes. Get settled, relax, take a swim in the pool and get ready for a most adventurous day at the exclusive Amuka Lodge and Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

Lunch here which is much more than a meal but merely a culinary delight

During the afternoon at your pleasure after you take a swim at the pool – get ready for your up-close encounter  with the Rhinos – you have guides with, and you get as close as thirty feet of the Rhinos which is a thrilling Adventure for you.  There are some great opportunities to photo during the Rhino Trek and of course, personal enjoyment.

Rhino Trekking on Foot has been a very Safe Activity for years in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.  You are with highly trained Rangers while trekking the Rhinos. The Trek is about 2-Hours  in length.

Enjoy a quiet evening in the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary along with another delightful meal for dinner.

 Day 4 – Chobe Safari Lodge – 5-Stars along the Nile:

Breakfast and a morning boat ride safari where you might see Africa’s most sought after a bird – the elusive and ancient looking Shoebill storks found in the Lugogo Swamps in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary along with many other water birds.

This Swamp outing means an early rise and seeing the sun rise over Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary while being paddled on the swamp and seeing Birds, Otters, the Sitatunga Antelopes, Bush Pigs, and other mammals.

At around 10:30 am we continue our journey to Murchison Falls Park with a short drive to Chobe Safari Lodge, a 5 Star resort in the African Wild where there are various choices for you to enjoy such as rooms and suites in the lodge, Tents along the Nile, and even the presidential cottage with your private lagoon – only a fantastic place to enjoy.

Settle into your room or tent and take in the sights and sounds before – the River Nile is rushing by below you, you can sit on your balcony or canopy deck and take it all in along the River Nile.

Lunch at  Chobe Safari Lodge is another culinary experience and is expertly prepared for your enjoyment.

During the afternoon, relax, swim, or fish from the shore of the river for some Nile Perch or read a book.

Late afternoon choice of a guided nature walk or game drive –either with a Uganda Wildlife Ranger along for better enjoyment of the experience in the African Wild.  On both the nature walk or game drive, you will encounter wildlife, birds, stunning scenery, and more.

Dinner time in the African Bush in style and comfort.

Enjoy the African night sounds as you sit outside on your deck or balcony and take in the sounds of the African night at Chobe Safari Lodge as the Nile gurgles by you underneath the moonlit sky in the African Wild of Uganda.

Day 5 = Murchison Falls National Park:

 Breakfast at Chobe Safari Lodge and breakfast it is.  Sit down by the river along with the pool and enjoy the tropical sunshine while enjoying a celebratory meal in style.

Enjoy a game drive through the nearby savanna and enjoy the Rothschild Giraffes, elephant herds, antelopes of various kind, buffaloes, leopards at times, lions and much more as you move along in your comfortable land-cruiser with a pop-up roof so that you can take some great pictures of the wildlife before you.

Lunch at Chobe Safari Lodge and relax for the afternoon.

Late afternoon Game Drive – each game drive is about 2 1/2 to three hours in length and most enjoyable.  A Uganda Wildlife Ranger is on board the vehicle to point out various wildlife, birds, and reptiles that otherwise you might miss.

Another romantic Dinner along the Nile at the 5-Star Chobe Safari Lodge.

 Day 6 – Paraa Safari Lodge – Murchison Falls Park:

Breakfast at Chobe Safari Lodge and we off for the short drive to Paraa Lodge o the drive being our morning game drive with lots of Rothschild Giraffes, Elephants, Buffaloes, antelopes of various kinds, savanna birds and much more.  The safari vehicle has a pop – Par-up roof so you can stand and have an excellent unobstructed view of the wildlife.

Bottled water is available in the vehicle for your consumption and enjoyment.

Murchison Falls Park is an excellent park for a variety of wildlife, scenery such as the Borassus palm tree studded savannah, the River Nile and of course Murchison Falls itself – the most powerful waterfall in the world.

We check into Paraa Lodge where once again it is a matter of choices of a standard room, suite, Luxury Safari Tents, or the Queen’s cottage.

Get settled into your room and later enjoy dinner at your leisure. There is a swimming pool for you at the lodge, and even from the pool, you have a view of the River Nile.

Lunch is a treat as you sit on the veranda enjoying your meal, in the distance the vastness of the African Wild, up close the Nile below you – it only can’t get any better than this.

Enjoy the afternoon – toward the late afternoon we will be taking the game drive across the savannah with its palm trees which is different from the rest of the savannahs of East Africa.  Hopefully we will get to see some lions, a leopard here or there, large herds of Rothschild Giraffes, Buffaloes, antelopes, Savannah Birds – there is lots to see for you and to make sure that there is not much that you might miss we have a Uganda Wildlife Authority Ranger on board the vehicle – your driver guide will slow down, stop – turn off the engine so that you do not miss a thing while on the game drive.

 Day 7-Murchison Falls Park:

Today it is getting up before dawn and driving to the Hot Air Balloon Starting point.  This morning you will see the Sun rising from a Hot Air Balloon over the Savannah, see the Wildlife from above as you silently glide over Murchison Falls National Park. A 1 1/2 hour sunrise hot air balloon safari that will stay with you for a long time to come. It is incredible as to how many animals you will see from above and the great photos that you can take from your Gondola.

The Hot Air Balloon Safari is followed by a traditional Champagne Bush Breakfast prepared by the staff from Paraa Safari Lodge.  The breakfast is the added plus.

Lunch at Paraa Lodge

Afternoon Boat Safari up to the River Nile, moving closer to the bank of the river to get some up-close shots of elephant herds, buffaloes, antelopes, the vast Nile Crocodiles found here, pods, of hippos, water birds, monitor lizards and much more.

At the bottom of the falls disembark and enjoy the guided walk along the most powerful waterfall in the world – Murchison Falls – you will be cooled off by the spray that comes across the path at times. Winston Churchill went down this same trail in 1907 as boarded a boat that took him to Khartoum.   Ernest Hemingway crashed here as his plane flew over the falls and snagged some electrical wires.  Samuel and Florence were stranded here as a hippo overturned their boat when they were the first Westerners to see Murchison Falls.

At the top of the falls be greeted by your driver guide and after a walk around it is back to Paraa Lodge for the evening and dinner after an enjoyable day in the savannah and on the River Nile.

 Day 8 – Return to Kampala:

A morning game drive before or after breakfast and then we cross the Nile by ferry at and head back to Kampala – but first, we stop for lunch at the Masindi Hotel, the oldest hotel in Uganda.

A hotel where the cast of the African Queen stayed including Katherine Hepburn, Humphrey Bogart, and John Huston.  It is also the hotel where Ernest Hemingway stayed, Michael Palin and Lauren Bacall.
