Paradise Malahide – Gisenyi along Lake Kivu is just about 7 kilometers out of Gisenyi on a Peninsula that stretches into Lake Lake Kivur along a pristine bay- a perfect location to relax and chill out for a few days after gorilla trekking, hiking through Nyungwe Forest and tracking primates there, going on game drives in Akagera National Park and more…a place to be, a place to be refreshed and that is something you most likely will be as you enter Paradise Malahide and smell the Bougainvillea and see the well kept gardens and are greeted by the welcoming staff of Paradise Malahide and welcoming they are.

The rooms are not elaborate but simple, the place has almost a rustic, but distinct African feel to it but there is also the warmth of care cleanliness, reasons that Paradise Malahide is liked by those who have stayed here on their safari in Uganda.  There are six bungalows and four apartment with verandas for guests to enjoy.

Entertainment is often provided in the evening with traditional dances being performed to the delight of the guests who often join in the celebratory dances and music.

Food is à la carte and the presentation alone is a feast for the eyes and the palate is quite pleased also – food is an important part in keeping the guests happy and Paradise Malahide does more than an adequate job in pleasing their clients by providing the freshest ingredients prepared in a most tasteful way and in a most creative fashion and the is on plentiful.

Most come here to relax and chill out that you can do – go down to the beach area of the large and even as you walk to the lake you just find that perfect spot in the garden where you will find cushioned benches and tables under a shady tree to relax and read a book.

At the lake you can take a swim in the pristine bay that is devoid of what some call floaters, garbage that can be found on other beaches of Lake Kivu.

The beach area has some nice sun-loungers and umbrella to shade you from the sun.

Paradise Maldahide – rustic – not up-market in the lodge offering but in style and that is why Lonely Planet and TripAdvidsor both rate it as the place of choice – you can pay more in Gisenyi but just might not get more value.
