The Gorilla Habituation Experience Groups you can Track on an All-Day Trek

Gorilla Habituation Experience Groups you can Track and spend 4 Hours with at Rushaga – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. There were two Gorilla Habituation Experience Groups you could Track in the south of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda.  The Bushabo Group was released for visitations and now can be trekked (600 USD normal Permits) in the Nkurngo Area of Southern Bwindi Forest along with the Nkuringo Group and the Christmas Group

At this time, the Bikyingi or Bikingi Gorilla Family is the only family open for the Gorilla Habituation Experience which is 4 hours with them on an all-day Trek. This mean until a new group is brought into the process there is only one family for Gorilla Habituation – translating into 4 permits for those who want to Participate in the Habituation Process.

Only in Uganda can you visit a Gorilla Family being habituated and spend 4-hours with the Gentle Giants of the Forest. This cannot be done in Rwanda or the Democratic Republic of  Congo but only in the Southern Area of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest of Uganda accessible from the Nkuringo and Rushaga Region of the Forest.

The Permit Cost is 1500 USD for you to join this select fraternity of the few that have done the Habituation Experience. It is not an activity for everyone – it is only for those that want to be a participant – who are open to learn more about Gorillas and their ways and realize that this is an experience in the Wildl where nothing is predictable.

Meet the Bikingi Gorilla Family during your Gorilla Habituation Experience.

The Bikingyi (Bikingi) Gorilla Group  15 Members-Presently the only Group open for the Habituation Experience.

The Bikyingi or also spelled Bikingi Gorilla Family is located in the Southern Area of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, in the Rushaga Area of the forest.  It is one of two families that tourists can visit for four hours on an all-day Gorilla Habituation Experience.

The Bikyingi gorilla group is made up of 1 silverback, 5 adult females, 2 sub-adults, 2 juveniles and 5 infants. It is one of the two families that are undergoing habituation in the park.

The Bikyingi group was first discovered in the Bikyingi area, near Rushaga, no wonder it was decided to name it according to the area where they were first found. The only silverback and leader of the group was named the same as his group, Bikyingi.  He is very friendly to all the young ones in the group and spends a lot of time with them.

This group can be part of your personal Gorilla Habituation Experience – 4 hours with the Bikyingi Gorilla Family in the Rushaga Area of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

With only 4 permits per day, it means planning ahead- have a flexibility in dates and use someone such as ourselves who have the experience with this one-of-a-kind-experience
