Getting to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Begins with first Getting to Uganda – Africa’s Premier Primate Destination.- the Pearl of Africa, home to the Big-5 Plus Primates, Africa condensed into a small county, pleasant climate, the Equator and it is the most bio-diverse country in Africa.
Getting to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is a 9-hour journey. It is best to leave early in the morning. If you are on a 3-day Gorilla Trekking Safari you will spend two full days on the road. Though it might be interesting, 18 hours on the road in 3 days is more than a direct flight from New York City to East Africa, which is 26 hours long.
The person with more time breaks up the long drive by adding days and parks to the safari. Lake Mburo Park is a perfect halfway point to Bwindi Forest. A 5 to 7-day safari will cut your time on the road and increase your time seeing primates and wildlife.

This is a pleasant flight from Entebbe International Airport to either Kihihi near the Buhoma Area of Bwindi Forest or to Kisoro which is 1 hour from the southern area of Bwindi Forest.
The flights are daily and convenient. You are limited to 15 kg on a Fly Safari with Aerolink Airlines.
