 Akagera National Park:

Akagera National Park in Rwanda is the only Savannah Park in the country. It is the perfect park to visit for a family with children of all ages.

You can stay in one of the two Family Friendly lodges there – the Upmarket Ruzizi Tented Lodge that even has a tree-house and the moderately priced Akagera Game Lodge – both are great for children and kid-friendly.

Here you take guided game drives where you can see Lions, Elephants, Leopards, Buffaloes, various kinds of antelopes.  If you take the boat safari you will be able to see animals coming to water, crocodiles, pods of Hippos and Water-Birds including the sought after Shoebill Stork.

Akagera National Park is a great two night safari destination for a family with children of all ages.
