Many times such workshops are best when taken in during a village stay in Uganda and there are various opportunities for just that. Drumming and dancing lessons can be done in various places in Uganda from Kampala to the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains of the Moon from a few hours to a full day of learning the arts of dancing and or drumming and become quite skilled at it. You will have personal instruction, live drumming and in some cases other music will accompany your hands-on lessons.
Spend an afternoon in a village setting of Western Uganda and learn the art of Ugandan basket-weaving, quite an art that you can learn through hands-on lessons where you not only learn some new skills but also make friends with Ugandans by being involved, respecting and learning their traditional ways.
Create some earrings, necklaces from start and finish, bead making, design and much more – each one of the times are personal hands-on experiences that enrich your stay in Uganda.
Many of the hands-on experiences are perfect for your group – dancing and drumming lessons lend themselves to half-day and full day session often accompanied by the performance of the group instructing you.
