Uganda -it’s all about Image – Images shaped by movies such as Last King of Scotland – Raid on Entebbe
Consider Uganda – Why Uganda should be the favorite Gorilla Trek Destination in East Africa
Rwanda has the darling of travel agents around the world – whereas those of us who live and work here “Consider Uganda.” Rwanda made famous by the movie “Gorillas in the Mist is wrongfully seen as the best gorilla destination not offering when it comes to Gorillas – Wildlife – scenic wonders and culture what Uganda does.
When it comes to movies and documentaries Uganda has been made famous by “Raid on Entebbe” and of course “The Last King of Scotland” – one could the semi-fiction so-called documentary “Kony 2012” and “God Loves Uganda.” All a far cry from the beauty of the Virungas and the Mountain Gorillas portrayed in “Gorillas in the Mist.”
From our perspective, it is time to “Consider Uganda.”
Why should an African Traveler consider Uganda as their featured Destination?
The most Habituated Gorilla Families – the most Mountain Gorillas – the only country where you have the opportunity to spend 4 hours with a gorilla family on a Gorilla Habituation Experience – you can also spend all day with a chimpanzee family and half -day with a Golden Monkey Family on a Habituation Experience…Consider Uganda – the only country to offer Primate Habituation Experiences. These Primate Habituation Experiences are now done by over half of our Gorilla Safari Clients.
Uganda has the best up close Rhino Experience in the wild at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where you track them on foot”? Some of the Best Savannah far and wide with Kidepo Valley Park – Murchison Falls Park with a vast savannah and the River Nile running through it and Queen Elizabeth Park with its Tree Climbing Lions.
Uganda – it costs less – lodging is more affordable in Uganda when it comes to budget – moderate and even upmarket lodging and when it comes to gorillas you are more in the wild and not in town. Something that many visitors to the heart of Africa prefer.
Land in Rwanda and track gorillas in Uganda at a lower price – add wildlife – culture – scenic wonders and chimpanzees.
Kabiza Wilderness Safaris does Safaris in both Uganda and Rwanda and many of our safaris are combination Safaris…what we found out is that clients who do gorilla trekking in both Uganda and Rwanda prefer the Gorilla Habituation Experience in Uganda – 1500 usd for 4 hours with a gorilla family being habituated where only 4 visitors are allowed.
Kigali airport is only 3 hours from Rushaga – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Many fly in and out of Kigali – others land in Rwanda and fly out of Entebbe – Uganda at the end of their safari.
Consider Uganda – we do so daily and let our clients know what is available – off of the beaten track in the Pearl of Africa – Uganda in the heart of Africa.
We know how to weave safaris together for you and your enjoyment.
