When is the Best Time of the Year to Visit Uganda? When asking that question, there are several things one must take into account. There are two Dry Seasons. Mid-June through early October, Mid-December into March. Those same months are also High-Season meaning that there are more tourists in parks. There are more tourists competing for Gorilla and Chimpanzee Permits. More tourists competing for lodge space, especially when it comes to Luxury and Exclusive Lodges.
If you want a Safari in Uganda without the crowds and you do not mind some rain then for you April and May, Mid-October through Mid-December is the Best Time to visit Uganda for you. There is the added benefit that during those months many of the Luxury Lodges give seasonal discounts.
Uganda, though on the Equator is known for its temperate Climate. Most of Uganda’s Weather is influenced by the country’s elevation. The presence of Africa’s largest Lake, Lake Vitoria. There are also the Rwenzori Mountains of the Moon, the Virunga Volcanoes and Mount Elgon.
Most of the Tourism Destinations are– in the East African HIghlands with the exception of Murchison Falls National Park and Kidepo National Park. Visitors who expect Gorilla Trekking in a hot and humid Jungle are surprised that trekking in Temperatures that rarely exceed 25°C or 77°F no matter what month of the year.

There are no Gorilla Trekking cancellations due to Inclement Weather. Game drives still occur on the Savannah that comes alive during the rainy season. You often see more wildlife during the rainy season than you do during the dry-seasons.
