When is the Best Time of the Year to Visit Uganda? 365 days of the year are the best days of the Year to Visit Uganda. You can visit Uganda at any time of the year – even during the rainy season since our rains come at night and early in the morning and there is little rain during the actual day.
The Best Time of the Year in Uganda? It depends on the Activities you will be doing. Hiking, climbing is best done during our dry-season months. Gorilla, Chimpanzee Trekking is done in the Rainforest, where it can rain daily and often does, there is no cancellation due to inclement weather, Trekking goes on every day of the year.
Uganda, though located on the Equator, because of its elevation, Lake Victoria affecting the weather patterns of the region enjoys a moderate Holiday Weather like Climate all-year long. The sun comes out each day – Ugandans depend on it, laundry is dried in the Sun since there are few electrical dryers.

December – especially the last week of December is one of the busiest weeks of the year in the park and lodging must be booked well in advance since it is time when Expats and well to do Ugandans take a holiday in the National Parks and other Destinations in Uganda – some lodging facilities also charge a surcharge for the week or just for the actual holidays such as Christmas and New Year.
Worried about visiting during the rainy seasons of the year – here is the reality – in Uganda Rains come and go – even during the rainy season – the sun comes out and dries up the rain-soaked African soil and life goes on.
Rainy Season – does not mean it is the no-visit season in Uganda – you do need a good safari vehicle with four-wheel drive and elevated – The parks do not close during the rainy seasons, you can still track the gorillas and chimpanzees, see the wildlife of Uganda.
The added benefit is lower rates at some (mostly up-market lodges) lodging facilities which are an added benefit. One should note that such lodge discounts are mostly given in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Area of Uganda where Gorilla Trekking takes place.
