Six Days of Wildlife in Murchison Falls Park – Kabwoya Wildlife Reserve – Chimpanzee Trekking – Kibale Forest

6-Day-Murchison Falls – Kabwoya-Kibale  Chimpanzee- Wildlife Safari -up-market – private Wildlife-Primate Safari taking in Murchison Falls Park, Kabwoya Wildlife Reserve down the scenic Western Rift Escarpment along Lake Albert and Kibale Forest with its primates, add on top of that the Bigodi Wetlands, and a crater lake hike and you have a great 6 day Safari.

This 6 day Day Safari is great on Scenery.  You have the River Nile and the most powerful waterfall in the world, the vast Western Rift Valley found in Kabwoya and Kibale Forest and its surrounding Crater Lakes.  You not only enjoy Wildlife and Primates but some of Ugadna’s best Scenery.

Day 1 – Murchison Falls Park:

The morning starts early as we begin our 6-Day-Murchison Falls – Kabwoya-Kibale  Chimpanzee- Wildlife Safari. Our first stop is Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where you track Rhinos on foot with Rangers from Ziwa.  You get within 10 meters of the Rhinos allowing you to get some great photos.

Lunch at the Masindi Hotel – the oldest hotel in Uganda with many famous people that have stayed here.

We journey northward to Murchison Falls National Park through Masindi toward Murchison Falls National Park with many interesting sights along the way.

Once we reach the River Nile at Murchison Falls – we take the ferry across and check in at the lodge that you have chosen – from budget to upmarket.

There are many lodge choices here for you, it is best to pick a lodge that is on the wildlife side of the park since you have easy access to the game drives and boat safari.

Late afternoon game drive – Murchison Falls Park is simply fabulous.  Lions, Elephants, Antelopes such as Uganda Kob, Giraffes, Buffaloes all there as you move through the savanna landscape.  Take it all in, it is most wonderful and to enhance your time on game drives we use a Uganda Wildlife Authority Ranger

 Paraa Lodge – Upmarket: 

Upmarket Lodging on the wildlife side of the park.  It is has often been said that Paraa Lodge is located in the best spot in the park when it comes to location.

You have choice of standard rooms, rooms with AC, Suite, Tented Cottage and the Queen’s Cottage that sleeps 4 and is close to the River Nile.

The Food and Service is great here and you will love having dinner overlooking the Nile, the Breakfast is a spread here.

 Fort Murchison – Moderate – Budget:

Fort Murchison is a lodge we have used since its inception and our clients have been very satisfied staying there, either in the moderate, spacious rooms with bath and view or the budget Furnished Tents with thatched roof and an outside sitting area and shared bath.

Solar lights throughout.  The food and service are good here for a moderate and budget lodge.

Day 2 – Murchison Falls Park:

Early morning breakfast and off for the morning game drive where you will see more and new animals and birds as you travel along Lake Albert and through the savanna  Each game drive is different in nature and new surprises.  Even if you take the same game track

After lunch it is off to one of the major highlights of Murchison Falls National Park, motorized boat ride on the Nile to view the crocodiles, the many hippos along the bank and in the river, the birds, monkeys, buffaloes, elephants and so much more and of course the bottom of the falls.

This is a 2-hour trip and it is best to wear a hat and lots of lotion.  Use some insect repellent to avoid being bitten by Tsetse flies. RID from Australia works on Tsetse Flies

Day 3 – Kabwoya Wildlife Reserve:

Breakfast early and we move on to Kabwoya Wildlife Reserve located in the scenic Albertine Rift along with Lake Albert with the Blue Mountains of the Congo in the distance.

We take the scenic route and cross over the escarpment into the valley below where the Kabwoya  Wildlife Reserve is located. (This provides a break in the journey to Kibale Forest and allows you to see one of the more scenic areas in Uganda.)

Check into Lake Albert Lodge, located on a cliff overlooking Lake Albert.  Spacioius bungalows  to provide for your comfort.

Late Lunch, refresh in the pool from the journey.

Choices of Activities include:  Please let us know which activity you would like to do.

Dinner:  Choice of dinner at Lake Albert Lodge or a Bush Dinner in style in the wild.  This is certainly more than a picnic basket but a full dinner in the African Wild.  Again please let us know which you prefer.

Lodging for Kabwoya Wildlife Reserve:

 Lake Albert Safari Lodge:

Lake Albert Lodge is the only lodge in the Kabwoya Wildlife Reserve.  It is lower upmarket in price.  You will find  a swimming pool, great cottages with views of Lake Albert.

you can have a bush breakfast or bush dinner here and there are lots of things to do and see while you are here in the Reserve.

The service is good here and you are served tasty Meal.

Day 4 – Kibale Forest: 

Breakfast  and a morning activity chosen by you such as guided walk and others above.  We then depart for  Kibale  Forest, driving to some beautiful countryside which is a bonus along the way.  Lunch along the journey and of course we provide drinking Water while in the vehicle as we travel.

We reach Kibale Forest Area where we check into the lodge you have chosen.

We have dinner and participate in one of the highlights of the safari…a nocturnal forest walk in the jungle.  Bushbabies and Pottos with their big eyes will be looking at you,  plus other Creatures of the Night.  This is a guided walk with spotlights conducted inside of Kibale Forest.

 Primate Lodge – Upmarket and Moderate:

Primate Lodge is located within Kibale Forest Park.  There are the upmarket Tented Cottages and the moderate wooden cottages with bath for you to choose from.

The location is especially good if you are going on a Chimpanzee Habituation Experience which starts early in the morning.

The meals that nicely presented are served in the Main Lodge which is in a most comfortable Setting.

 Papaya Lake Lodge – upmarket – luxury:

This exquisite Lodge is 4e5 minutes from Kibale Forest but that is well worth the drive.  Private Cottages overlooking a crater lake, a great swimming pool with a view.  The lodge and cottages are decorated with superb art, the food is something people rave about.

This is only lodge of its kind with a classy European cuisine that has an African Twist to it. Papaya Lake Lodge is a one of a kind lodge in Uganda.

Other Lodging Choices:

Day 5 – Kibale Forest:

Early Breakfast and leave the lodging for chimpanzee tracking  (trekking). Other primates that may be observed are Red tailed monkeys, L’Hoest’s Monkeys and lots of Baboons. This is a fabulous forest that you will absolutely love, imagine an African Rainforest filled with wildlife and primates, exotic plants and trees, butterflies, birds in abundance and you are in it.  Be sure to be dressed right.

Option:  All day Habituation Experience at Kibale Forest.  You are not one hour with the chimpanzees but spend all day in the jungle with them.

After lunch go to Bigodi Wetland Swamp viewing the various birds and mammals that we find up to early evening before returning to your accommodation for dinner and over night stay.

Day 6 – Kampala – Entebbe:

Breakfast and Crate Lake walk through villages, up to a viewpoint with passing three crater lakes – at the end we are on top of the world and have a view of the Rwenzori Mountains and all the way into Queen Elizabeth park.


Leave after lunch and  arrive in the early evening in Kampala. Five days of Uganda Safari taking in some of the best Uganda has to offer of Murchison Falls National Park and Kibale Forest and Kabwoya Wilderness Reserve – enjoy your six-day Safari in Uganda…
