Day One – Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest:
We will pick you up at your Hotel and take you to Entebbe Airport where you check in with Aerolink for your flight to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for your 4 Day Fly In Twice Gorilla Trekking Safari with two Gorilla Treks.
The flight is comfortable in newer planes that are well-maintained. The views that you will have of Uganda from above will breathtaking especially if you fly to Kisoro where you will see the Virunga Volcanoes, Lake Bunyonyi and Lake Mutanda.
If we track Mountain in the southern region of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest we recommend Clouds Mountain Gorilla Safari Lodge which is an exclusive, luxury safari lodge with private suites, with fireplaces, marvelous views of both Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and the Virunga Volcano chain.
Exquisite lodging and matching service with excellent restaurant type food.
When you land in the northern section or southern section of Bwindi Impenetrable you are met and taken to the Lodge you have chosen where you have a chance to settle in.
Afternoon: A guided interactive village walk where you meet those who live around the park and the culture and ways of people and depending on which village walk you take you will meet the traditional healer and learn how the forest is use to treat people for various ailments. Traditional brewing, food production and cooking, a school visit when school is in session, craft making, blacksmith and more.
Day Two – Gorilla Trek :
Have an early breakfast, take your packed lunch and be at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park Headquarters for the Mountain Gorilla Tracking (Trekking) orientation and meeting with guides and separation into groups depending on which group you will be tracking.
Things needed for Gorilla Trek: Light hiking boots, light rain-jacket, daypack, 2 liters of water, some like to have gardening gloves to pull themselves up on vines and branches, long-trousers such as jeans, long-sleeved shirt to protect skin from getting scratched, hat – wide brimmed is best, sunglasses, insect repellent mostly against flies. A porter’s services is provided
The flora and fauna, the other primates, mammals, birds, butterflies will be most beautiful and only enhance this very special day.
The tracking (trekking) can involve some rigorous climbing and hiking but then you are face to face with these powerful yet gentle Mountain Gorillas, observing them just a few meters from you watching the group, mothers with a baby, the gorillas doing their daily routine and you are there. You will not find the mountain gorillas in any zoo, but only in this small section of Africa where the remaining mountain gorillas are found.
Day Three – 2nd Gorilla Trek:
Breakfast and you are off for your second Gorilla Trek with a different gorilla family group giving you two different experiences.
Even if you were tracking the same group as the day before it would be a different experience since gorillas move daily and build new nests in a different site. You will need the same kind of clothing as on the previous day and once again you can use an porter to help you in carrying your things.
A Gorilla Trek can be from 2 hours to five hours plus but once again is a most awe-inspiring experience for you and it becomes even more special if you can share that experience with someone such as a spouse, friend or friends.
