 Our Take:

Where to to trek Gorillas, south or North Bwindi Impenerable, or even Mgahinga Gorilla Park.  Let us try to assist you a bit based on feedback from oiur Clients.

Buhoma was the first part of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and is the most developed area with the most lodges but not the most daily permits, that is the Rushaga area that along with Nkuringo is the least devloped.  The undiscovered by many Mgahinga Gorilla Park where there is only one Gorilla Family that you can track while staying at the exclusive Mount Gahinga Lodge.

There are 4 areas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and as you get closer to the peak seasons one goes where the permits are.  Those that plan ahead can have both permits and the lodge of choice.  Buhoma Area permits and lodges tend to go first – most of our clients on the other hand enjoy the less developed southern Area of Bwindi and Mgahinga Gorilla Park.  The southern area is also the only area where you can do the Gorilla Habituaiton Experience.
