10 Day fun-filled Kid-Friendly Family Safari in Uganda.  Day 1 – Arrival in Uganda 0 Bulago Island:

Your 10 Day fun-filled Kid Friendly Family Safari in Uganda begins – Arrival in the Pearl of Africa for your family – kid friendly safari in Uganda.  Morning arrival at Entebbe airport and you are greeted and welcomed by our staff to Uganda and your driver-guide who knows how to introduce children Africa with all of its natural wonders.

Be welcomed at the Pineapple Bay Resort and check into your fabulous private family cottage and simply chill out and get in touch with tropical Africa at Pineapple Bay Resort – this is a wonderful place to spend your first day in Africa especially if you arrive here during your winter time.

Afternoon Pony Riding for the children on this private island with guides to help the children and keep them safe.  Enjoy the pool, the equatorial sunshine, warm but not too hot, simply a pleasant day in Africa on your private Island.

Day 2 – Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary – Bulago Island:

Breakfast and we take a boat-ride across Lake Victoria to Ngamba Chimpanzee Island – an orphanage for Chimpanzees where everyone will be able to see the lovable chimps from above as they feed and play, enjoying the day.  A special treat for the children and parents alike.

After the visit with t he chimpanzee we take the boat-ride back to the Island in the Sun – Bulago Island and Pineapple Bay Resort for a lunch and enjoyable afternoon.

Relax in the afternoon, fish from the shore with your children, or watch them while they fish, relishing the moment enjoying the beach, lake, sunshine, palm trees, the water birds, monkeys, the peace and tranquility on this lovely Island on Lake Victoria.

Day 3 – Wildwaters Lodge – Jinja :

Breakfast – cross to the mainland by boat and we head for Jinja where continue to Wildwaters Lodge which is located on Munyanja Island in the Wild Waters Reserve of the Nile at Jinja. We cross over to your private island for the next two days by boat and you are welcomed in grand style by the staff of Wildwaters Lodge.

Your room is simply an amazing delight where everything has been prepared for your comfort in luxurious style, it simply cannot get any better.  Before you is the rushing River Nile, behind your private cottage made from tent and natural materials that abound here, impeccably decorated, all with you in mind, even a private bathtub on your deck where you can literally soak it all in.  Most certainly a unique out of the ordinary experience.

Natural River Rock Swimming Pool is available for you and your family.

Lunch is a delight and not a mere meal making the surroundings you are in even more pleasant, enjoy.

After lunch islands and enjoying the Forest, Trees, plants, flowers, birds and monkeys and notice the quiet only broken by the sound of the River Nile.

Sunset Boat Ride

 Day 4 – Wildwaters Lodge: 

Awaken to the sounds of the ancient Nile and songbirds all around you – it is breakfast time and some superb Ugandan coffee to get you going for the day.

Today you can choose to simply relax and be a human being instead of a human doing, you can go half day or full day white water rafting up to grade five.

You can kayak, go horseback riding along the Nile, you can drive through the countryside and villages on an ATV Quad Vehicle, or do something really extreme “Bungee Diving” into the Nile – along the lines of adrenaline pumping experiences is the jet boat ride up the Nile across the rapids which is a most exhilarating experience for most.

Day 5 -Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary: 

Breakfast at Wildwaters Lodge and this is not simply a matters of eggs and toast but a full meal for you to enjoy as you experience one of the 7 Wonders of Africa – The River Nile around you.

We cross over to the mainland at 7:30am and head for Kampala and north to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary –our next stop on our family Safari.  From Kampala this is a three-hour drive – we reach Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary at lunchtime and check into the fabulous Amuka Lodge which is a delightful up-market lodge in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.  The rooms are tent fabric cottages made with local items includes wood recovered from an abandoned saw-mill. Each cottage comes with bath – a deck for you to sit on and take in the African wild.

Lunch and Amuka is known far and wide for their excellent food – the kids will delight in it and parents will enjoy both presentation and taste.

Afternoon the family goes on the Rhino Trek – where you track Rhinos on foot with guides and get as close as thirty feet of the Rhinos.  It is an exciting adventure for all and safe for the family. Normally the tracking is about 2 hours in length.

After the Rhino trek enjoy the rest of afternoon around the pool and dinnertime just might be one of the delightful Barbeques that Amuka Lodge puts on for its guest – enjoy dinner in the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

Day 6 – Murchison Falls Park – Chobe Safari Lodge:

Breakfast and early it should be this morning since we are off in an African dugout canoe in search of the ancient looking Shoebill Stork and other water birds – this includes a swamp walk where we just might come across the semi-aquatic Sitatunga Antelopes and other wildlife.

After our swamp exploration we take a relative short drive to Chobe Safari Lodge and once again we will be along the River Nile below the Karuma Falls. Depending on the size of your famil y various options are available from rooms, suites, tents including large deluxe tents, and two cottages, the Presidential Cottage with two bedrooms, sitting area, a huge private deck overlooking a lagoon along the Nile.  There is also the Florence Baker Cottage that is perfectly suited for a family.

Chobe Safari Lodge, a 5 Star resort in the African Wild where there are various choices for you to enjoy such as rooms and suites in the lodge, Tents along the Nile, and even the presidential cottage with your own private lagoon – simply an amazing place to enjoy.

Late afternoon choice of  guided nature walk or game drive –either with a Uganda Wildlife Ranger along for better enjoyment of the experience in the African Wild.  On both the nature walk or game drive you will encounter wildlife, birds, stunning scenery and more.

Day 7: We are off for a morning game drive as a family – a Uganda Wildlife Authority Guide is on board the vehicle as we venture out into the Africa Bush as a family.  The pop-up roof allows every one to stand and the little ones can stand on the seats for better viewing.

Hopefully you will come across Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Giraffes, various kinds of antelopes, cape buffaloes, savannah birds, warthogs, bush pigs, monitor lizards and so much more.  A real adventure – that cannot be replicated in a zoo or wildlife park, this is the real African Wild and normally the eyes of children will be wide-open.

 Surprise Bush Breakfast for the family in the Bush – that certainly is a one of a kind experience – this has to be organized by special arrangement with Chobe Safari Lodge and it is an experience that all enjoy – a full breakfast in the African Wild.

Late- afternoon game drive – each one being like children unwrapping presents – they delight in seeing the animals in their natural setting – standing up in the vehicle as it stops and looking over the quiet savannah spotting a lion crouched in the grass, giraffes gracefully moving long, and elephants in the distance surely something to share back at school.

Day 8 – Murchison Falls Park – Paraa Safari Lodge:

Breakfast at Chobe Safari Lodge and we off for the drive through the savannah to Paraa Lodge o the drive being our morning game drive with lots of Rothschild Giraffes, Elephants, Buffaloes, antelopes of various kinds, savannah birds and much more.  Another exciting morning in the Pearl of Africa.

Bottled water is available in the vehicle for your consumption and enjoyment.

Murchison Falls Park is an excellent park for a variety of wildlife, scenery such as the Borassus palm tree studded savannah, the River Nile and of course Murchison Falls itself – the most powerful waterfall in the world.

We check into Paraa Lodge where once again it is a matter of choices of standard room, suite, room with AC, or the Queen’s cottage that houses four and overlooks the Nile from its private setting.

There is a swimming pool for you at the lodge and even from the pool you have a view of the River Nile.

Enjoy  the afternoon – toward the late afternoon we will be taking a family  game drive across the savannah with its palm trees which is totally different from the rest of the savannas of East Africa.  Hopefully we will get to see some lions, a leopard here or there, large herds of Rothschild Giraffes, Buffaloes, antelopes, Savannah Birds – there is lots to see for you and to make sure that there is not much that you might miss we have a Uganda Wildlife Authority Ranger on board the vehicle – your driver guide will slow down, stop – turn off the engine so that you do not miss a thing while on the game drive.

Day 9 – Murchison Falls:

Breakfast – you can have it before or after the morning game drive – there is nothing like a sunrise game drive over the savannah – at times as the sun rises it burns off the morning mist and things become clear once again.

 Afternoon Boat Safari up the River Nile, moving closely to the bank of the river to get some up-close shots of elephant herds,buffaloes, antelopes, the huge Nile Crocodiles found here, pods, of hippos, water birds, monitor lizards and much more.

At the bottom of the falls disembark and enjoy the guided walk along the most powerful waterfall in the world – Murchison Falls – you will be cooled off by the spray that comes across the path at times. If children are too young to take this walk – hike – we simply take the downriver trip and see more wildlife, birds and reptiles on the way.

At the top of the falls be greeted by your driver guide and after a walk around it is back to Paraa Lodge for the evening and dinner after an enjoyable day in the savannah and on the River Nile.

Day 10 – Return to Entebbe:

Breakfast and we cross the Nile by ferry (if a visit to the top of the falls was not included in boat safari we do so now) and we head for Boomu – a women self-help group where you and your children discover what life is a like for a rural Ugandan family, how children deal with everyday struggles.  Visit a blacksmith, school, home, craft making, food preparation over an open fire and more.  This is something that children enjoy doing and they delight in meeting children from other culture and learn from each other.

Lunch at the Masindi Hotel which is the oldest hotel in Uganda and comes with much history.

We continue for Kampala or Entebbe and arrangement for your last night can certainly be made for you and your family.
