Kibeho was the place where some young people had visions of Mary appearing to them and even telling them of the Genocide that was to come in graphic terms. In 2001 the Vatican authenticated the visions and the little town of Kibeho has become the Lourdes of Africa with pilgrims not only from Rwanda and other Africans but from all over the world including India.
