Gorillas in The Camp – a special Visit

Spending a night with the Mountain Gorillas in Uganda

A Gorilla Encounter by our Clients

You are all set for your visit to a Gorilla Group Family in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – the level of excitement is high in your group as your 5 day Safari in Uganda commences – there are the expectations of the nextday and the gorilla trek with your assigned gorilla family group for which you have the permit in your hand – It is a long drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest you are getting settled in for the evening inside of your furnished tent – sit on the deck outside overlooking the ancient, primeval Bwindi Impenetrable Rainforest –it alone is an amazing sight behold – no wonder it was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site – simply a fabulous – mysterious looking forest.

All is well – you have a relative early dinner which you find very enjoyable and satisfying and head back to your furnished tent– as you get near your tent you notice something quite different, something maybe even a bit startling – while you were eating – the Rushegura Gorilla Group moved in – full force – simply amazing to see these magnificent gorillas so close and in such a setting as this lodging facility.  This is certainly an unexpected after dinner treat.

We had the most fantastic time throughout the entire trip. We were certainly lucky having e gorillas spend the night in our accommodation! Going to sleep with them outside our balcony and waking up to them also. Very lucky….Chris

Unexpected gorilla Visits due happen around Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – however they are not the norm – our clients – two couples had an amazing time spending the night at Bwindi with them in the morning – afterwards they wandered back off into Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for the day.

Our clients having seen the Rushegura up close that evening and in the morning – they spoke with our driver-guide and he arranged it with other tourists to switch from the Habinyanja Group to the Rushegura Group and our clients were able to track the Habinyanja – two gorilla groups in 24 hours and only one permit – simply because some unexpected visitors  – Gorillas – came to their camp.

Will it happen to you – our clients did not get touched by the group like an American Photographer did which became a YouTube hit overnight – however they thoroughly enjoyed their time at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest  with lasting memories – all because of some unexpected Gorilla Visitors…from Kampala…jon
