Let us be realistic – No one can guarantee that you will wake up Happy each morning on a Safari in Africa. However there is something one experiences on a Safari in the heart of Africa – the awesome spaces, the unending sky, the countless stars that illuminate the night, the sounds of the African Wild, the magnificent Sunrises and Sunsets, all things that seem to give you a different perspective, a new lease on life, an appreciation of nature and one could go on…

Soon like Ernest Hemingway we just might say “I never knew of a Morning in Africa when I woke up and was not happy.”

Karen Blixen: “Here I am where I belong.”

Amazingly quite often when Visitors come to Uganda to go on Safari with us they are surprised by that “welcoming  – at home feeling.”

Yes, there are great cultural differences, poverty is prevalent and things seem quite different and yet people often feel like Karen Blixen wrote years ago “Here I am where I belong.”

Going on a Safari in Uganda, spending two weeks here is like a fulfillment of the “Safari Yearnings” that have been with us for a long time.  In my case they go back to my childhood dreams.

Africa is one of the few places left on this planet where you can explore those dreams of your childhood and it is coming home.

Lily Leung wrote “ Home is where the heart is and my heart is wherever I am at that moment.”

Welcome Home to Africa, welcome to its Pearl Uganda.

Brian Jackman:  “Everything in Africa bites, but the safari bug is worst of all.”

Africa Safari Quote Jack Hartman thumb African Safari Inspirations Safari Quotes and Sayings

Yes, Africa – Uganda does have a lot of bugs, but the bug that seems to bite visitors the most is the thrill, the excitement of being on adventurous Safari in the heart of Africa – Uganda.

There is no zoo in the world where you see a Mountain Gorilla up close – and those that do are never the same again.

The experiences on a safari are both inner and outer experiences and they stay with you.  The safari bugs comes and bites.

When someone leaves Uganda and at the same time makes plans to return then you know they have bitten with the safari bug.

Ernest Hemingway was obviously bitten with the Safari Bug when he wrote “All I wanted to do now was get back to Africa.  We had not left it yet, but when I would wake in the night, I would lie, listening, homesick for it already.”

Joseph Thompson:  “ The Most Hazardous part of our Expedition to Africa was crossing Piccadilly Circus.”

Many contemplate a safari adventure in Africa, but worry about the safety of such a trip into the heart of Africa.

Being on Safari in Africa is one of the safest places to be – there is nothing hazardous about it.

On Safari you are accompanied by a knowledgeable driver-guide, stay in safe and secure lodges and tented camps  and a country such as Uganda has Wildlife rangers all around and there is the added tourism police in Uganda.

Africa is often seen as unsafe, seen as insecure and the image many have of Africa is one of lawlessness, nothing could be further from the truth and the reality on the ground.  There are simply too many myths and anecdotes that people believe about Africa.

W.C. Fields:  “Reminds me of my safari in Africa. Somebody forgot the corkscrew and for several days we had to live on nothing but food and water.”

african Safari Quote WC Fields thumb African Safari Inspirations Safari Quotes and SayingsIf you are going on Safari it is good to plan ahead and not to forget some pertinent things that you might need on your safari such as a corkscrew.

Planning your safari as to what to do and see, as to how to pack for the various activities is most important and actually most enjoyable.

Preparing for your safari by reading up on your destination such as Uganda makes it more enjoyable and you are more knowledgeable about you will see and do in Africa.

Safaris have come a long way since the days of old and since the days of W.C. Fields – you will not go without food and water and you can have a glass of wine along the way plus a lot more depending on whether you choose a better-Budget or up-market safari in Uganda.  Most of all enjoy your safari in Uganda.

Karen Blixen:  “There is something about safari life that makes you forget all your sorrows and feel as if you had drunk half a bottle of champagne — bubbling over with heartfelt gratitude for being alive.”

Going on Safari is therapeutic – it is a cleansing, leaving what lies behind for a few weeks – John Hemingway said in best “I believe there is no sickness of the heart too great it cannot be cured by a dose of Africa”… African Journeys

There is something magical about Africa that transforms, inspires, gives a new purpose and lease on life.

Read the early African Travel Journals such as John Hannington Speke, Samuel Baker, Winston Churchill and Karen Blixen.

Most of them were drawn back to Africa again and again as it still is with today’s modern Safari travelers who has a lot more comforts along the journey depending on the type of Safari they pick.

No wonder that Karen Blixen wrote toward the end of her life ”If there were one more thing I could do, it would be to go on safari once again.”

Winston Churchill “Uganda is truly “the Pearl of Africa.”

Winston Churchill came on his African Journey, his African Safari to Uganda in 1907 where he landed by boat at Entebbe – and from there by rickshaw, boat, bicycle, vehicle and on foot traveled through the Pearl of Africa and he was amazed by what he saw during his Safari in Uganda – all of which he recorded in his book “My African Journey.”

Winston Churchill travelled through Kenya and Uganda but it was Uganda that truly inspired him and which he named (or renamed-since others had used it before him) “The Pearl of Africa.”

Uganda – over 100 years later is still the Pearl of Africa and you will not regret taking advice from Winston Churchill “Concentrate upon Uganda.” Something we do at Kabiza Wilderness Safaris.
