After a delightful lunch
we are off for a boat ride around the edge of
the lake discovering the various
birds around the lake. The lake is actually
connected to a cluster of 14 lakes which extends
beyond the park and has been declared protected
wetlands.
The boat will move slowly
around the lake giving you ample time to find
various water birds, the Shoebill amongst them,
also the African Fish Eagle, Marabou Stork,
Pied Kingfisher, different kinds of Egrets and
Herons. Besides you will see Hippos, Crocodiles,
Buffaloes coming to water, waterbuck and Bushbuck.
If you look into the thickets surrounding the
lake you will find other birds such as Ross's
Turaco and Narina Trogon. The African
Finfoot can also be found here. You will
have a delightful afternoon of discovery.
Back to the lodge for
dinner, reflection and rest. No matter

of the African night in the wilderness as you
go to sleep.
Day Two:
Morning comes early this day, have a cup of
coffee or tea and off we go on our Birding walk
through the savanna as the sun rises.
6:30 in the morning is light and we might still
see some nocturnal animals who have not
turned in for the day.
The scenery will be just
wonderful for you and the birds will be in abundance,
most likely we will see some mammals along the
way. Hopefully we will spot some Crested Francolin,
Emerald-spotted Wood dove, Brown Parrot, Bare-faced

pool or just sit there looking out in the vastness
of Lake Mburo Park.
In the afternoon we will
go on Safari looking for wildlife and at the
same time be cognizant of any birds we might
encounter. This way you have a blend between
an African wilderness safari and African Birding.
Lake Mburo has an abundance of Zebras, one of
the only two National Parks in Uganda to do
so.
We return to the lodging
for dinner and rest and chats with other guests
at the facility.
