Lake Mburo National Park

Lake Mburo National Park:

Lake Mburo is the smallest of Uganda's Savannah Parks, but that does not mean anything when it comes to the abundance of wildlife that roams here.  There are zebras, impalas, elands, topi and buffaloes.  If birding is your fancy, the rare shoebill stork can be found here quite often.  Do not forget the National bird of Uganda, the Crested Crane, wherever you turn you will find them.

If  you enjoy fishing, get ready for some sweet tilapia, one of my favorite fish and a delight if prepared just right.  As you fish, you will be able to see the hippopotamus just near you frolicking in the waters of this wonderful lake...situated in the Mbarara district about 3 1/2 hours Kampala.  It is the perfect combination with Bwindi Forest and its gorilla tracking.

Here you collect yourself after an intensive hike through the hills of Bwindi...Lake Mburo has been a respite for thousand of travelers...Those in search of birds are  very fond of this lovely park,

The lake is famous for its richness in bio-diversity - 68 different mammals, from leopards to jackals.  My favorite is its vegetations...I happen to love Acacia trees, they do something within me.

There are a number of game drives one can embark on to see Impala, along with warthogs, topis and zebra.

Lake Mburo is the perfect overnight rest-over and there are various places to choose from.
