  • Amber Willet's: A lady whose site, "Soul's Desire" truly reflects the Harambee SpiriSouls's Desire Websitet.  Amber describes it as "Soul's Desire...words and images inspired by the soul in the hopes of touching the soul of another."  It is a site that provides strength and support for the many that find it.  To visit her site is an enriching experience.


 

  • "Smile Quilts" is a site that makes a difference in the lives of children with a terminal or life-long illness.   Children having to deal with disease and even death, need things like presence and touch.  Smile Quilts makes special quilts for sSmile Quiltsuch children.  A group of ladies, with a heart reach out in compassion, creating that special quilt for that special child.  Giving them something to hold on too during the night, to look at during the day, something that says, people love and care.  Smile Quilts truly represent the Harambee Spirit of pulling together and it is an honor to present the Harambee Award.


  • PARENTS, Inc.  is a partnership of Alaska families with disabilities that provides support, training resources, and advocacy statewide.  Parent with children who have a disability are ofParents, Inc.ten at a loss as to where to turn.  Case workers are overloaded and may miss what is available for the child with a disability.  "Parent's, Inc" provides that coming together of resources with families and need in spirit of Harambee.


  • Florence Kansas and it surrounding towns is one of Florence Webthose out of the way places one can miss, but Florence has its own Internet Community with discussion groups where people exchange thoughts, gossip and simply help one another.    There is also the latest information on what is going, who to contact for town or government help, and all the other things that make a community.  It is truly a coming together, a people in touch with one another and deserves the "Harambee Award."  Such sites are usually only available to big cities, but here in the heartland of America the spirit of community are alive and well in a big way.

 

  • Meth Madness is a site put together by a woman who has overcome the bondage of Meth MadnessMethamphetamines in her life and is reaching out to others caught in the web and despair of meth addiction.  There are times when we cannot break free alone, when the inner resources of one need others to come alongside and give a helping hand.  The Meth Madness site makes the spirit of Harambee come alive and site well worth the visit.

  • Mental Health Info-Net:  This site enables the visitor to research mental illness, mental health issueMental Health Info Nets, mental health legal issues, advocacy, recovery and support without spending hours in search engines. A discussion forum is included.  The site allows people to be in touch with others bringing hope and healing, relieving the stigma attached to people with mental illness by working together.

  • The Internet is filled with pages and pages of information.  This site is the story of a mother who speak on behalf of Mom Advocateher Down Syndrome Child sharing the pains, the joys, the struggles, the rewards.  A mother baring her heart and soul for others who are learning to live in a world that does not always treat people with disabilities in an understanding and graceful manner.

  • Spring Creek Youth Services Center is a place where young people get an opportunity to succeed in life through caring teaching and an environment that fosters personal responsibility.  It fosters a can-do attitude in its young people and allows them to break out of a background of hindrances to success in life.  It is a site where one will discover and ponder, where one will encounter change, growth, becoming the person one was intended to be.

  •  Marsha Long's Music for the soul, music that touches the heart of someone who is aching can bring about Dr. Marsha Long healing musican inner and outer change.  Dr. Marsha Long using her gifts and talents to touch others who are in need and some that are not but simply enjoy music.  In the spirit of Harambee her music pulls people together from every walk of life in various places and venues and healing takes place.  Visit her site and enjoy her music...a sample is even on line.
