Thank You for Helping A Child in Uganda

If you  have decided to sponsor a child at $25 per month, or make a contribution of $30 or or more, we will send you the batik of your choice as our way of saying thank you.  They are handmade batiks by a young Artist in Uganda who learned the art of making Batiks from his mother and our buying them from him supports his going to school.  When you send your contribution we will send you the batik of your choice along with your tax deductible receipt.  Please let me know by email of which one you are choosing by sending me the number of the Batik, so I can pull it off the website.  Thank you again for making a difference in the life of a child and giving them a future and a hope.

Batik 116

It is best to stretch your batik for a while since it has been in shipment and takes on a few wrinkles here and there. Some choose to frame their batik, while others just hang them. I display them both ways in my home and enjoy them either way.  They are about 18 by 30 inches and quite colorful.  These batiks are not for sale, but are exclusively a gift to those who make a donation of 50 US dollars or more, or sponsor a child at 25 US dollars per month.

Nyiio Iishma Artist - Batik Maker

This is Nyiio Iishma, the artist who creates the batiks.  He is 21 years old and comes from Jinja, Uganda, the source of the Nile, and it is also stretches out along Lake Victoria.  His mother taught him the art of batik and other artistic crafts.  He first worked with clay, then started to draw in the first grade and never stopped.  He is attending school to further advance his art.

He has a sense of humor, and kept me waiting (for hours) just before I had to fly out of Uganda.  In the nick of time he delivered the artwork he created for me so I could bring it back to the US.  He knows his batiks will be gifts to donors and he thinks this is most wonderful since it will benefit children. A Ugandan patron reimburses Nyiio full value for his batiks, so your donation goes directly to help the children.

How Can I Help?

What Can I do to help a Child in Africa?

Since the early nineties I  have been involved with caring for children.  Last year we formed Ambassadors of Hope International, a registered non-profit organization in the USA .dedicated to working with the children of Uganda and East Africa, children who are born into slums and have little to hope for unless  someone cares and makes a difference in their lives by coming and giving their time, by someone sponsoring a child so that they can get an ongoing education. Many people give a donation that pooled with others translates into help for a child, a hope filled  future.

If you are interested in helping in any way, please contact me by email at jonblanc@kabiza.com  or you can send a donation by check to:

Ambassadors of Hope International, PO Box 2974, Blaine Wa 98231Ambassadors of Hope International - PO Box 2974, Blaine WA 98231

You will receive a tax receipt if you are in the USA and a detailed account of what will happen with your donation.  Less than 10% if any, will be used to handle your gift. In the USA everyone is a volunteer and there are no employees.  The money is sent to Alpha and Omega Ministries where it is administered by qualified staff-members, some of whom have worked with Ugandan children for over 20 years.

If you desire toPick the Batik of your choice... sponsor a child with a monthly donation, it is $25 per month or $300 per year in one donation. You will receive a picture and background of a child, 4 letters a year and reports from the teachers on the progress of the child. You can also visit your sponsored child in Uganda and actually work at the school where your child attends. We will send you photographs of your child in class, eating lunch, playing.   Thank you for caring...jon

We do have a special gift for you for any donation over 25 dollars, or the sponsorship of a child.  We have various beautiful 20" by 30" hand made in Uganda Batiks that we will send to you with the receipt for your donation.  You can pick out your batik today and email me your choice along with your planned donation, name and address.

Take a look at the Batiks.
