  • The Shikwekwes:  This delightful comic strips is now on line.  See the Shikwekwes as they deal with everyday Kenyan life in the 21st Century.  You will laugh and cry at the same time.  Don't miss this site and return often.


African Composers:

  • Black History and Classical Music:   Here is a site most classical music lovers know little about: Classical composers and performers of African descent, including Fela Sowande and Samuel Ekpe Akpabot of Nigeria, and Mzilikazi Khumalo and Michael Mosoeu Moerane of South Africa.  You will enjoy taking a look and discovering some wonderful new sounds.


African Musicians:

  • Angelique Kidjo:  Her earthy voice brings Africa to you.  This tiny woman is filled with more energy than three people.  Infectious sound that gets to your soul.  I simply enjoy her.

  • Lucky Dube:  This is my favorite Reggae Artist.  I love his message and the mellow sound.  Very pleasant to listen to.  Lucky Dube is from South Africa, but makes regular World Tours. 

  • Forward Kwenda:  If you like Mbira music, he is one of the masters of that ancient Shona instrument.  He is also a wonderful and enjoyable man that is very sensitive to people, life around him.  I have had the pleasure of hosting him at my Bed and Breakfast.

  • Sarah Ndagire - dancing to a different drummer:  A Ugandan Musician a Woman with heart - touching Africa - Uganda - with the Message of her Music and Songs.
